'THE ORIGINAL "WRIST-TOP COMPUTER"'
Strengths:
Light and easy to use. Batteries replaced easily. Good back light. 3 alarms for those alpine starts. Excellent altimeter / barometer. Even the compass works...
Weaknesses:
It still seems like a lot of cash for a watch, but hey, some people pay £3000 for a lump of rolex on their wrists, and what use is that on the Cairngorm plateau in winter....
Layout in some modes means you can get the date confused with the time, which becomes embarrassing after a while.
Overall:
The one that started it all off, the vector is an excellent adjunct to navigation in the hills, especially in poor vis and on mountain marathon type events. It's probably lighter than your normal watch, and it does so many splendid things, and when you are 90 and your eyesight is failing you'll still beable to read the time 'cos the numbers are huge. Highly recommended.

'THE ONLY WATCH YOU WILL EVER NEED'
Strengths:
Big display, long battery life I had to replace after approx 18 months. The altimeter seems to be pretty accurate once you are in the habit of calibrating it. The back light is just the right brightness.
Weaknesses:
The alarm is not as loud as it could be and I'm not sure I would want to have to rely on the compass. Its a bit slow when very cold
Overall:
Does everything but get the beers in.

'A CLASSIC'
Strengths:
Used extensively in the UK and the odd trip to the Alps, this watch has been durable and easy to use. The large face allows you to use the watch even in the worst of weather or failing light.
Weaknesses:
The only weakness is that my work and family used to laugh at the size of the watch face [and still do on occasions] - but what do they know!
Overall:
Very good. I've had my watch over five years and still use it everyday. The ability to change the battery without submitting for a two week trip is brilliant - especially allowing the fact that you can replace it in an Alpine hut at 8,000 feet!
