'GOOD PRACTICAL AND TOUGH TORCH LET DOWN BY BATTERY EATING'
Strengths:
Bright
Adjustable beam
Candle mode
Lanyard attachment for hanging in tent
Weaknesses:
Eats batteries quickly
Overall:
There are good things to note about the Maglite, it is tough, it has a spare bulb in the base and it is good and bright. Where it falls down is it's use as a tent lamp. The candle mode is strong and the lanyard allows it to be hung from the top of our tent. The problem is that we have eaten 2 AA batteries in just 7 hours of candle usage. This makes it very unpopular as a tent lamp for our multi-day expeditions. We are going to look at the NitePalm 4, we will let you know how we get on.

'BOMBER BATTERY EATER.'
Strengths:
Bomber, with good beam and adjustable focus that works. Works in candle mode in a tent but not good for standing on anything thats not a table! Waterproof, dropped mine in a river at night, found it due to the beam and it was fine.
Weaknesses:
Bought mine in the USA to save on the price. Eats batteries quickly.
Overall:
If you want a small bomber torch and your not worried about battery life then this is a well recommended torch.
