Weaknesses: Not waterproof, this is a time piece for the outdoors and its not waterproof...are you serious? It doesn't have a backlight! The watch strap would barely do up around my wrist, I had to buy the elasticated ski strap separately. It's fiddly to use; I took a book of istructions around everywhere for 2 years and never got the hang of it and then try using it with gloves on... in the wet You can't change the hungry battery yourself you have to send it away.. the third time it needed changing I tried myself and had loads of springs etc left over after.It never worked again
Overall: Honestly.. not waterproof Says it all really. Truly awesomely crap.
Strengths: Simple operation, big buttons, can be worn over jacket or gloves for accurate readings. Useful features for skiing.
Weaknesses: No light, but I don't ski at night. Battery replacement by mail, although mine lasted more than four years on the original.
Overall: The only altimeter watch I'll have. Had mine stolen and have struggled to fnid a replacement in Switzerland so will get a nwe one next time in the UK.
Strengths: great performance, easy-to-read display, no need to recalibrate again and again as with other watches (is being done when you send the watch in for battery replacement - once in 4 years) - still displays the correct altitude for years
Weaknesses: no light but then if you're out at night you'll use a headlamp anyway - a bit uncomfortable to wear due to the design of the strap
Overall: there's no alternative if you're looking for a reliable altimeter - watch combination
