'BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!'
Strengths:
Will last for a very long time. Do not need an expensive an ineffective map case which does more harm than good.
Weaknesses:
V.Expensive. More bulky although less bulky than a normal map in a case
Overall:
Ecellent

'Great!'
Strengths:
you can still read them when it's raining! if you go over a fold you just turn the map over!
Weaknesses:
Price, goes a little brittle after time (well my old ones have - but I guess the new plastic is better!) more bulky than a standard map but less than map and case!!!
Overall:
Map cases Suck! - they flap in the wind, you can never fold the map so you can see your whole route so end up getting the map rained on anyway while you mess around in a force 10 gale trying to refold it and get it back in!!! Long live laminator machines!!

'EXCELLENT INVESTMENT FOR FREQUENTLY USED MAPS'
Strengths:
They stop the map from turning into papier mache. I used to get through a couple of OS42s a year, I've now had a laminated one for 5 years. A good investment!
Weaknesses:
Slippery when wearing polypro gloves.
Overall:
A very cost effective way to protect frequently used maps. Also a very speedy aid to glissading (though more expensive than a survival bag)
