'Excellent all-round mountain axe-from Glencoe!'
Strengths:
Solid design, quality forged head. Good pick design ideal for self-arrest and lower grade mountain routes.
Weaknesses:
Heavier than some, but more durable with it.
Overall:
Ideal for walkers wanting to move into winter mountaineering, a good investment that will last for years. Current model only available in anodised blue (!) which isn't really environmentally friendly...
Also available with a steeper pick (alpine/technical) which is better for steeper ground but still OK for self-arrest.

'GREAT ENTRY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT'
Strengths:
Robust unpretencious axe with useful rubber hand grip. Borrowed one for a weekend in Scotland and just had to get one.
Weaknesses:
A little heavy and felt bulky to carry. Colour is bearable, you may need to tape it!
Overall:
At the price (£35 if you shop around)an affordable entry level axe that won't let you down!

'GREAT, SOLID AND RELIABLE.'
Strengths:
Forged head
Excellent Adze
Build quality.
Weaknesses:
Provided leash is awful.
Overall:
Great mountaineerng axe, adze is the best i've used for cutting steps. Also reasonable ice tool for beginners when paired with the hammer, suitable for up to Grade III or so. Build Quality is great as well.
