Uses AA batteries. Weaknesses: Not sure about the battery compartment hinge. Overall: Based on a couple of days use in the hills: It's a bit heavier than a Petzl Tikka, but also a bit brighter. It should also be cheaper to run as it uses 2xAA batteries rather than 3xAAA. It has a regulator circuit so it should retain full brightness as the batteries run down. It seems to be very sturdily constructed - the waterproofness claim seems plausible.
