'MARVELLOUS'
Strengths:
Sooooo comfy. I love it.
Weaknesses:
None. It's big and heavy but it's for car camping so no complaints there!
Overall:
Get one if you want to sleep really well. If you want to sleep badly, then don't!

'BRILLIANT'
Strengths:
best night sleep I've ever had outdoors
Weaknesses:
none so far apart from it's bulk and hasle in getting 2m of mattress back in it's bag!
Overall:
Bulk, bulk , bulk but somehow it does'nt matter, if you are canoeing then there's room, Backpacking then a lightweight drybag [from Alpkit?] and some straps to your pack will do. For Alpinists, something smaller methinks

'WHERE DO THEY HIDE THE SPRINGS?'
Strengths:
Own bed like comfort.
Low price, but high quality.
Buy one for the other half and save money.
Weaknesses:
Only really of use for car camping, unless you're into the new 'ultra-heavy' backpacking.
Overall:
It really is the best nights sleep I have had in a tent and at the price it would be difficult to beat. Alpkit have done it again!

'MORE COMFORTABLE THAN MY BED + IT DOESN'T CREAK'
Strengths:
Two metres of comfortability so most people can really stretch out
I don't care how thick Airic is its comfy
PRICE 2005: £35 late2006: £37.50 all inc postage.
sort of self inflates to a certain extent
Includes a repair kit and instructions
ALPKIT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE BEST - if you need to use it.
Weaknesses:
the material it is made of is a little bit slippy so might slide off it and wake up cold especially if you are on a slope.
some people report leaky valves, i had small problem with a leak next to the valve caused by me screwing and unscrewing the valve without holding onto the piece of the valve joined to the fabric resulting fabric fatigue and a leak - which was easily repaired with the enclosed repair kit.
Overall:
Bought it Mid november 2005 it is now early December 2006 that I am writing this review, so basically 12months and I've used my Fat Airic um..... err i've run out of fingers and toes to count on, well its loads of times. its been to wales the lakes and scotland on numerous trips used both in the tent car camping and also bivvying near my car. I also use it when sleeping over at other peoples houses and because I'm some sort of wierdo i often clear a space amongst all the junk on my bedroom floor and sleep there on my fat airic rather than in my bed!
My Airic seems to want to self inflate less and less as it gets older, it doesn't take many puffs to blow it up though and it is not something that bothers me.
To avoid sliding off all the time time I recommend not having the airic completely inflated then it will mold to your shape better.
It is a big big for anything other than car camping, but then you want comfort when car camping don't you?

'LEATHERCLAD LAZY BOY ARM CHAIR STYLE COMFORT FOR ALL!'
Strengths:
7 cms of air filled comfort, couldn't feel a thing through it.Will never go without again. Used it for a three week trip in France and woke every morning as fresh as a daisy - Better than my thermarest and fantastic value.Comes with stuffsack and repair kit too.
Weaknesses:
A tad slippy if you pitch up on a slope, but other than that no problems. Not for lightweight enthusiasts though, but great for a base camp mat as long as you don't have to carry it in!
Overall:
A great mat, super comfortable and excellent value for money.

'Sheer indulgence'
Strengths:
Ridiculously comfy.
2m Long !
Low Low Price
Makes your mates jealous.
Weaknesses:
It does take a long time to get the air out but it is a big beast of a mattress.

It's massive even when rolled up and a touch heavy but get real it is for car-camping only.
Overall:
Quite simply the best nights sleep I've ever had in a tent.
