'Excellent kit - light, comfy, functional and a bargain'
Strengths:
Really easy to get on with. Well-featured, well-made, light (700g), cheap but not nasty!
Weaknesses:
Scoffed at by label-snobs!
Overall:
These are roomy enough to allow variations in layering, but never feel flappy. The shoulder-straps are elasticated and have velcro adjustment, so they can be trimmed off to suit short-arses like me. I like the main zip arrangement - there are 4 pullers on it so you can vent easily, reach inner layers and drop the crap-flap. Main zip has stormflap with velcro. Fairly easy to put on over crampons. 2 zipped and stormflapped pockets at midriff height are easily accessible with harness and/or pack. Velcro-flapped 2-way front zip in bib extends low to act as fly. Good fit onto boot with or without crampons (front hook, elasticated inner grip-strip). The upper back is well cut and is comfy under a pack.
OK, the make hasn't got much kudos and they're probably aimed more at skiers than walkers/climbers, but these fit the bill for winter mountain walking and light axe-work. Who cares about the label in an ice-storm? If only they were made from eVENT not Gore-Tex...
