'VALUE FOR MONEY IF YOU CAN GET ONE OF THE ONLINE DISCOUNTS'
Strengths:
Clean design, looks good on the street or the mountain. Nice internal pocket designs on 2008 model, single handed hood drawcords are a nice touch. When un rolled the hood is a good fit, with a nice peak.
Weaknesses:
Waist drawcord only accessible from inside the jacket. When rolled, the stiff peak of the hood can be uncomfy on the back of the neck. The pullers on the sips are small, and feel cheap compared to my older Lowe Alpine jacket.
Overall:
I bought a Deluge earlier this year to replace an old Lowe Alpine Logan jacket bought in 1994. Eventually the coating on the Logan failed in the wear points of the shoulders and neck. But the fact is it lasted 14 years of use.
The earlier triplepoint was never as breathable as old 3 layer goretex, but the newer triplepoint is much more breathable. I can't comment if it compares to more modern laminates, however the durability of my old jacket and my wifes triplepoint jacket really lead me to hope that this will be a long lived jacket.

One very attractive reason to buy this jacket - the price, in the region of £60 from some of the online retailers.

**Value is based upon the offer price, at the full £100 there are a lot more options out there, so it looses a star
