'VERY GOOD ALL ROUND MOUNTAIN TROUSERS'
Strengths:
Good weather protection without being too warm, very comfortable stretch fabric, look great.
Weaknesses:
None really, perhaps pockets as previously mentioned
Overall:
I prefer the Statis pant to my Montane Terra pant, which although good, do not handle bad weather as well as the Statis pant. Berghaus have produced a very good value for money all season trouser that will put up with a lot of abuse. The stretch fabric is perfect for mountain sports and allows complete freedom of movement. Highly reccomended item of kit.

'GOOD VALUE/PERFORMANCE RATIO'
Strengths:
Worked well over a range of temperatures and reasonably rain resistant. Remained comfortable even when wet, and dried quite quickly. I found the zip thigh vents worked well as ventilation. Nice grippy waistband when carrying a heavy pack. Fabric seems robust so far.
Weaknesses:
Pockets are a bit skimpy.
Overall:
The best general walking trousers I have found to date, and at a price that feels like value for money (for a change!).

'EXCELLENT VALUE'
Strengths:
Pretty windproof, not as clammy as some much more expensive softsheel pants and comfortable over a wide range of temperatures, helped by the thigh venting zips which really work. Fit is good and the material pretty tough, although can be ripped if you get it caught in your bike chain, as I found! Very cheap for what you get.
Weaknesses:
Not as water resistant as some softshells, but then less clammy as well. Material feels a little scratchy, although it's not too bad.
Overall:
You have to pay a lot more for any trouser that's better.

'TOP PRODUCT AT A MODERATE PRICE'
Strengths:
Good windproof/unclammy balance. Comfortable cut supplemented by stretchy fabric. Appear reasonably hard wearing. Zip thigh vents a bonus.
Weaknesses:
Bigger pockets would be welcome, especially if the rear one could take a map.
Overall:
One of my best buys, they only cost £45 and perform as well as trousers costing twice as much. The taper cut has overcome previous criticisms of Berghaus walking trs. You just don't notice you're wearing them.
