'POTENTIALLY EXCELLENT'
Strengths:
Lightweight, no breaking in needed, soft leather, waterproof, look smart.
Weaknesses:
Probably not a general problem but my right boot has a wider tongue and tongue-opening (don't know correct term) which means it cant be laced up as tightly as the left boot. Result is it doesn't feel right.
Overall:
Left boot is the best I've ever had, it feels like a second skin. Right boot, for reason given above, seems to allow heel to move. Have worn for max 6 hours and they stay comfortable although I'm exhausted by then. Need to lace tightly.

'SUPERLIGHT'
Strengths:
very, very light. Comfy.
Weaknesses:
Footbed is feeble. Sole is poor on rock, especially wet rock. Scuff easily. Very ugly boot.
Overall:
A very light and comfortable boot, but one that has cheapness all over the footbed, sole and midsole. The footbed can be replaced, but the sole will always be poor and the midsole falls apart early. Pittards leather scuffs up easily.

'COMFY BOOTS THAT DON'T NEED TO BE BROKEN IN'
Strengths:
A nice quality leather. Soft and flexible, but seem durable. I haven't noticed the rocks underfoot, despite the soles not looking the toughest. Never sweaty, but haven't been in hot conditions in 'em yet.
Weaknesses:
The soles won't probably last for more than a year of yomping. Oh well...buy more gear.
Overall:
Don't scoff at comfy boots.

' HUSH PUPPY'S OF THE HILLS.LIGHT,FLEXIBLE SUPRISINGLY TOUGH'
Strengths:
Retro style gives firm ankle support. Roomy toe box. They are light and this coupled with flexible sole leads to easy walking action even on dreaded tarmac!
I have used them in the dry heat of the Atlas mountains and the less dry! Cairngorms. They stood the extremes well and remained comfortable and in one piece!
Weaknesses:
Paring back the weight seems to lead to a thinner sole than a standard 3 season boot so feet do feel sharper rocks more. Boot though roomy, can feel a we bit tight on the upper foot. Lacing system can take a bit of getting used to.
Overall:
I like these boots a lot. On an extended treck they come into their own particularly towards the end of the day when the benefits of their lightness comes into play. I have found them suprisingly robust. The thinner soles and leather require the user to take more care with placement of the foot when on higher more rocky ground, however in my view this is a small price to pay for the comfort.

'NOT AS GAY AS THEY LOOK !'
Strengths:
I got a pair last may and I've worn them in all but full blown winter on some pretty rough terrain, they wouldn't handle a round of the welsh 3000's but for the dales , peak, pennines etc they can't be betterd.
The fit is great with plenty of toe room.
Weaknesses:
The fore foot could do with abit more padding for long trips but thats the only gripe. The price can be on the high side but as I get staff discount at my outdoor shop I found 75 pound very pallatable.
Overall:
great boots that have taken me on some fantastic walks both hi & low level, lite on the feet and very durable. The current pair need resoling but the upper is in great condition.

'NOT JUST FOR RAMBLERS'
Strengths:
Incredibly light, supple, waterproof boots. I've worn these on some very dry Pennine Moors, on a 17-mile round of the Carnedds, and given them a beating on Arran in very wet conditions, but they've been comfortable from the off and kept my feet totally dry despite exposing them to wet Arran glens for hours at a time.
Weaknesses:
They won't win any prizes on the catwalk. Grip isn't as certain as Vibrams on wet rock (then again Vibrams aren't great on wet rock either). The laces on mine took a bit of persuading to stay tied.
Overall:
I'm more than happy with them. They've done the job, and taken a lot of weight off my feet. Better for me in cooler conditions as any Gore-Tex boot is less breathable than plain leather, but well worth a look as an alternative to "cooler" brands.

'GOOD, BUT A BIT ON THE SOFT SIDE!'
Strengths:
Very light, good waterproofing and breathability.
Weaknesses:
Not enough support for the real rocky, uneven stuff.
Overall:
Vey well made and supremely comfortable, but could do with a little more support.

'SUPA-COMFY!'
Strengths:
Very light. Waterproof. Comfortable and well-fitting (I have very wide feet).
Weaknesses:
If I had to find fault, I guess I'd have to say it's the price. But you know you're paying for quality!
Overall:
I suspect that they might not be robust enough for the hard-core crowd, but I've worn mine all over the Highlands and the Flow country and they're still in one piece. They were comfortable right out the box and I don't regret paying the price.

'COMFORTABLE BOOT IN THE SHORT TERM'
Strengths:
Very quick wearing in period
Weaknesses:
Not good on hard surfaces and road. Only Have about 700 miles in them
Overall:
Bought them for a 500 mile section of the Camino de Santiago. In training for the walk I had no problems. Some of the Camino is on road and hard payment and the boots were not up to this. The Gortex lining also proved a bit hot. By the end of the 500 miles they were pretty much toast.
Nice boots but dont push them. I would think 4-5 hour hikes is about enough and definitely no heavy backpacks. I would have been very happy with the boots if I just kept them for sunday hikes.
