'SMALL, LIGHT AND GLOWS IN THE DARK!'
Strengths:
Small, light and glows in the dark!

performs well given the size/design.

Batteries available from 7 day shop and not too expensive.
Weaknesses:
OK for emergencies. Need a better torch for serious stuff.
Overall:
Brilliant (excuse the pun!)

Great emergency/easy terrain torch

'Featherweight 2 LED Headtorch'
Strengths:
So light - 25g. Batteries last a long time as it only uses two LEDs.
Weaknesses:
Doesn''t provide as much beam as a Petzl Zoom (not surprising really). Batteries may be hard to come by.
Overall:
Fantastic piece of gear.

'LIGHT, BRIGHT AND LOW PRICE - BATTERY INCLUDED'
Strengths:
Lightweight, useful beam spread and low price make this headtorch an attractive device.
Weaknesses:
Spectacle wearers need to position it carefully to avoid unwanted reflections.
Specialist battery not available everywhere.
Overall:
Compared to the daddy of headtorches, the Petzl Zoom, the Ion wrighs nothing. In fact the Ion tips the scales at just over one ounce. That's more than 10 ounces lighter than the Zoom. Its 2 LEDs provide plenty of light to use around camp, searching in the rucsac and for 'setting up a rappel' (like it says in the instructions). For me this is adequate light to walk by given good weather and good underfoot conditions.
The comfortable headband and adjustable angle of the unit ensure that the beam can be set where you want it.
Battery life is a cliamed 15 hours - a fair claim given it only uses 2 LEDs, and all this for only £18 including the battery.

Strengths:
Very light as the blurb says can fit in your chest pocket. Can be seen from a distance. Be ssen be safe
Weaknesses:
Only 2 LED's therefore light not great for walking long distances camp near the toilets
Overall:
Very useful for reading in the tent and for searching in the tent and rucksack for your book

'EXTREMELY LIGHT'
Strengths:
So light you will never notice it and still puts out useable light, always lives in my pack.
Can be used as a tailight to guide others when walking apart in the dark.
Weaknesses:
Batteries (6V Silver Oxide) are expensive and not commonly available so I only tend to use it as a back up to another torch or for emergency use when travelling lightweight.
Some glare from light into users eyes, could do with a small shield.
Overall:
Puts out useable light, for me a little light is a lot better than nothing at all, usually I just need to be see where I'm putting my feet for the next few paces.
It was good enough for a pre-dawn ascent of Mt Blanc albeit following the lights of many others into the mist.

'FLIPPIN' BRILLIANT'
Strengths:
Weighs next to nothing, emits light, battery lasts ages. About £18.
Weaknesses:
Not great for long distant work - but then it's not supposed to be. Might need to spend a little time finding a backup battery.
Overall:
Why wouldn't you pack it? Good enough light to walk by in decent weather, great around the camp. Good thing to have.

Strengths:
I forgot my Petzl zoom the other weekend and nipped in to Joe Browns and sore this and thought why not give it a go. Now I would not be with out it.
Weaknesses:
As said before not a lot of good for distance.
Overall:
Top light. I got batteries hear fast and a good price. www.smallbattery.company.org.uk
