'Top Quality Reversible shirt'
Strengths:
Warmth, with the ability to keep you cool as well when required
Weaknesses:
None found yet, but will keep you updated.
Overall:
Went into the store to buy the Trail shirt, but one look at the Mountain pull-on and I was sold. Good looking shirt with deep neck zip and zip chest pocket on the smooth side, ideal fot compass etc. On a recent trip to Whernside, the shirt was all I needed on the way up. It has a good degree of windproofness, better than most fleeces. On a chilly decent the shirt combined with my Velez jacket was ideal.
The trouble with Paramo gear is once you've tried it you want the lot because it works so well. So beware!

'TOUGH, AND SURPRISINGLY WARM.'
Strengths:
This is a WARM shirt. I nearly passed out on a trip up Beinn na Caillich last summer whilst wearing it for the first time. It's better worn reversed in all but the coolest conditions. Tough construction mean that this is unlikely to suffer in harsh environments and makes it a top contender for rough scrambles in cool weather.
Weaknesses:
It's too warm to wear in all but the coolest summer conditions if you tend to overheat easily like me. Doesn't pack down very small compared to the newer soft-shell smocks for equivalent warmth. The construction of the cuffs leaves something to be desired - they're extremely tight.
Overall:
This smock is probably is probably going to last forever, but it will never be an essential piece of kit for me because of its weight and the limited range of temperatures I would wear it in. It shares the camp looks of some other Paramo garments which you either like or don't like. Good value for money though at £50-£60.

'LOOKS CAN DECEIVE - IT'S SURPRISINGLY WARM'
Strengths:
warm. wicks moisture magically leaving the inner fluffy face dry and the outer wet. extremely comfortable. more windproof than a fleece.
Weaknesses:
warm. it won't wear out.
Overall:
can wear next to skin but i prefer a base underneath. this with a velez top one day. below zero when i set out warming up later. needless to say i sweated quite a lot because i couldn't be bothered to take the smock off. base layer - dry. inner face of pull on - dry. outer face of pull - wet/damp.
works extremely well under a windtop.

'GOOD LIGHTWIGHT TOP'
Strengths:
fairly windproof and as effective as a fleece with minimal weight and vent
Weaknesses:
tight fitting
Overall:
good piece of kit i also bought an explorer pull on at the same time and the sizes although both large are totally different lesson is try before you buy for the sake of £5 i much prefer the explorer pull on
