'GREAT VALUE AND LIGHT WEIGHT'
Strengths:
Light weight - it really is 3.2kg smack on the nose including the repair kit (I have the Spirit 300 TBS)
Easy to pitch
Loads of room

[Update 02/01/10] Still pitches solidly (one panel sagging slightly)

Weaknesses:
Getting the poles into the sleeves is a bit fiddly if it's windy
No porch or footprint groundsheet available

[Update 02/01/10] Takes bit of time to peg out properly (but worth the effort)

Overall:
I love this tent!

It is easy to pitch, very stable and packs down small.

At 3.2kg it is too heavy for solo backpacking but ideal if there are 2 of you. Stacks of room in the inner for 2 people and a massive porch for all your kit. We also use it when we camp with our 4-year old daughter as there is room for all 3 of us in comfort.

You can pick one up for around £240 so excellent value.

[Update 02/01/10] I'm now using this for solo car-camping, having upgraded to an Akto for backpacking.

It's a great tent and positively palatial for one; sometimes I lie on my back in it and gaze at the cathedral-like roof...

'LIGHT WEIGHT AND HUGE PORCH (200+) BUT INNER TENT TOO SHORT'
Strengths:
Ability to pitch flysheet and inner simultaneously.
Light weight and small pack size.
Big porch and loads of room to keep kit.
Build quality.
Weaknesses:
I'm 181 cm tall and can't comfortably sleep on my back with my feet pointing upwards as they press into the inner tent. The inner tent slopes upwards at a shallow angle at the foot end and is just too low where my feet are. It seems a shame that the inner tent is made so short given the overall length of the 200+.
Footprint (available separately) is expensive although it does cover the porch area.
Inner tent fabric could do with reinforcement where the stitching for the inside pockets is.
Overall:
I'm very pleased with it. For me the main shortcoming is that I can't comfortably sleep on my back due to the inner tent pushing against my feet. Fortunately, I'm more of a side-sleeper which does alleviate the problem.

'FANTASTIC TENT'
Strengths:
Lightweight, small pack size, huge porch, very stable.
Weaknesses:
Can only adjust height of fly to floor on one side. Can be a pain getting poles through sleeves. I am 6'2" and have found inner slightly short.
Overall:
Really pleased with this tent. Incredible the size of it given the weight and pack size. I have used this in very windy/wet conditions in scotland and switzerland and it has really proved itself. Does flap a bit in the wind but remains totally stable. The porch size means it is a great tent to see out bad weather and store wet gear.

'ALOT OF TENT FOR YOUR MONEY'
Strengths:
very light for its size, huge porch and easy to put up with a bit of practice
Weaknesses:
flaps alot in the wind, so very noisy in high winds though still very stable, quite a big gap between the bottom of the fly and the floor, you can only adjust from one side.
Overall:
had mine for three years now, still cant find anything better for size to weight ratio in four season.

'PRETTY SATISFACTORY'
Strengths:
Lightweight. Pich as one or flysheet first. Colour coded poles. Colour. Generous porch. Internal pockets. Easy and fast pitching. Comes with a very useful repair kit
Weaknesses:
Big condensation problem. Very thin groundsheet. No groundsheet in porch. Inner tent is very short and you have to curl up if you are tall. Cannot use much of the porch space. Have punctured both the continuous pole sleeving and the groundsheet.
Overall:
Is not perfect - but what tent ever will be. Works well for me as I put my dog in the porch and as I always go by myself most gear can go in the inner tent.

'A FANTASTIC WEE TENT'
Strengths:
With the TBS in this tent it can withstand some pretty hefty winds. Our wee tent was not going anywhere in the gales.
The porch space is huge, allowing for a couple with kit to camp together (as long as you are close friends!)
Weaknesses:
It can be a bit fiddly, and there are two poles that are very similar in colour which can lead to arguments if you are not careful.
Overall:
An amazing lightweight tent, that has room for a couple and bags, and stays put in some of the worst weather that we get in the UK

'GREAT VALUE ALL SEASON BACKPACKING TENT'
Strengths:
Light and very small when packed. Loads of room, very stable for a tunnel tent with a good low profile to protect against strong wind. Refelctive guys and vents. Cheaper than the competition.
Weaknesses:
The three poles are colour coded which is great, apart from the fact that Vango have decided to use a light blue and a slightly darker blue for two of the poles which is annoying (although not the end of the world). TBS (tension band system) provides added strength to the structure but the straps get in the way when not in use/packing up.
Overall:
I've got the Spirit 300 which provides, in my opinion, the right amount of room for 2 people to be comfy and store all their gear and be able to cook in the porch etc.without falling over each other. A considerably cheaper option than some of the competition (Nallo GT etc.) and great value for money, especially if you can pick one up cheap (we paid £240, RRP is £300). An excellent tent if you want plenty of room and are going to be carrying it around on your back any time of year.

'LIGHT, STABLE 4 SEASON TUNNEL TENT WITH HUGE PORCH'
Strengths:
Massive porch, most of it same height as the main part of the tent so you can sit in it and cook comfortably. Easy to get in and out of with the side-zipped fly; no more falling out in a heap and landing in a puddle. Crucially, it stays up in the wind even if pitched a bit squint with the pegs not knocked in very far... I think it really is a 4 season.
Weaknesses:
Blasted blue poles, as above. Nothing that a bit of identifying tape on one of them will not fix...could do with a few more hooks and pockets inside.
Overall:
I agree with the previous reviewer. Mine is the 2-man version so I can carry it by myself if needed but it would sleep 2 as all the gear can go in the porch. Not cheap but not silly money; good quality materials.

'FANTASTIC VALUE, LIGHT WEIGHT, AND HUGE!'
Strengths:
Lightweight,compact and very stable
Weaknesses:
No porch groundsheet available.
Overall:
This tent is simply fantastic. For the pack size and weight the tent is huge. I was also very impressed by the stability of the tent.If you want a tent for general backpacking in four seasons (but not at high altitude) this is ideal.

'GOOD SIZE, WEIGHT AND PRICE, BEWARE IF YOU'RE VERY TALL.'
Strengths:
Great big porch so you can spread out all your gear without falling over it. High enough for two of you to sit up and eat or play cards, seems very stable, packs small and as light as much smaller tents.
Weaknesses:
A bit short, I'm 6ft and I can't easily lie straight out without touching each end.
Difficult to get the end of the flysheet away from the inner when it's windy (especially if your feet/head are touching the inner).
Could do with more loops, hooks and pockets.
Overall:
Excellent tent, quite easy to put up in a gale on Lundy island but I was disappointed that there wasn't a bit more length.
I bought this to replace a Vaude Hogan which is great but seriously limited on storage space, it's great to be able to get out of wet clothes in the porch and cook if necessary. The TBS seems to be a really good idea as it holds the poles in shape but I found it hard to remove slack in the flysheet in high winds.
