| 'GOOD, WITH SOME FLAWS' | | Strengths: Well constructed (I aint bust em yet) Light for the price | | Weaknesses: Locking system can come undone. Slightly more flexy than a other poles.
| | Overall: These are my first poles. I wanted something fairly light, at a reasonable cost, for a long winter backpacking trip. The build quality is good, and the pole is comfortable to use. The locking and adjustment system is easy to use, and works well. However, I found that when using the poles on very rough frozen ground, I would turn the pole slightly as I pulled it free from the ground, and the pole would unlock. And to make matters worse, when cold and wet, I had some difficulty getting them to lock again. Aside from that, I'd recommend them. Just make sure you tighten the adjustment really tight, or they will tend to loosen if you are using them on very rough ground. |

| 'NOT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL TITANIUM.' | | Strengths: Fairly light and strong for weight. | | Weaknesses: Over comlicated by the addition of anti-shock. | | Overall: I did not want the anti-shock system but could not find an original pole when I broke one of my original pair, and no one in the Lakes stocks spares. |

| 'Lightweight and loaded with clever features that don't work.' | | Strengths: This pole packs down smaller than most other Lekis that I have used which makes carriage in car boots and cargo holds much easier. The weight is also exceptionally low. | | Weaknesses: These poles feature the Leki "Easy Lock System". After just a few miles use, it becomes apparent that this is a mistranslation from the German which should have read "do they Ever Lock System". The bottom sections in particular simply do not stay secured as a result of which it necessary to stop at regular intervals to retighten. Once downhill work begins and you twist in the "Soft Antishock System" a further disappointment is in store. This time mistranslation has occurred from the German "Stays Absolutely Solid" system, which is exactly what the poles do unless you are prepared to stop every few hundred metres to twist the antishock mechanism back into the on position from which it slips with disconcerting ease. | | Overall: A huge diappointment. Well specified poles at a great weight but they just don't work. Why not go for a truly lightweight and low cost alternative and buy a set of telescopic drinking straws. Every bit as useful as the Lekis, a fraction of the price and weight and could also be used for long distance water extraction. |

| 'VERY LIGHT AND VERY RELIABLE' | | Strengths: lightest anti-shock poles I could find. Packs down small enough to stay on the pack when it goes in an aircraft hold. No problems with the ELS unlocking or AS unshocking, so maybe its all in the wrist? | | Weaknesses: centre section exhibits occassional unwillingness to lock off but I think this may be due to dust in the tube sections when new as problem has since gone away. | | Overall: These babys coped well with our recent Andorran adventure, bought them there for £50 a pair and have performed admirably. |
