The lantern itself gets really hot and it's easy to burn yourself on it and/or melt holes in things :0 Overall: Nice for car camping, but keep your eye on it!   Performance   80% Reliability   80% Value   60% Overall Rating   73%   Lawrence Morris   Posted: 08/07/06 'THESE THINGS ARE JUST FUN' Strengths: Fun to use in a base camp. Throws off a good amount of light. Weaknesses: A torch is infinitely more practicable if you are backpacking / wild camping. A gas lantern is a complete waste of weight--it is only useful and fun if you are car camping.
