'GOOD POLE, TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO'
Overall:
I would suggest not using this paired with a non-shock model as it causes wrist pain. That said once you get used to the additional movement then it does make a for comfortable tool. It is a little on the heavy side though.

'WELL, ER, MMM, THEY'RE TREKKING POLES, THATS ABOUT IT'
Strengths:
anti-shock releases a comfortable walking feeling, long or short extensions, fairly decent price.
Weaknesses:
Had problems with easy-lock system, tip broken off, one middle section replaced as it bent (albeit under some stress), other pole slightly bent and can't fit back into section, lack off accessories in high street shops eg. bigger baskets, measurement markings easily scrape off.
Overall:
the easy-lock has been a constant nightmare often taking the sections apart to twist the barrels. Standing on a windy wet summit ready to descend, I very nearly throw them away because of the frustration of locking the sections. I must say the good fellow @ Blacks in Dundee gave me a new mid section from Leki suppliers free of charge and issued me with some maintenance tips.

'USEFUL IN HILLY AREAS'
Strengths:
Didn't slip so didn't need to take care where I placed them. Extend over a good range of length. Give good support. Not too heavy to carry.
Weaknesses:
Takes time to shorten/lengthen. Length markers rubbing off after using them twice. Catch in undergrowth pulling arms out of sockets so don't use in bracken/ heather etc.
Overall:
This is my first time using poles. I was able to walk much further and with less fatigue when doing Haystacks and Buttermere Ridge. Great for hills and fording rivers/streams. Not needed on flat.

Not sure what anti-shock does as I didn't notice any benefit.

Only 3 for reliability, used them 4 times as yet.
