'RELIABLE AND COMFORTABLE'
Strengths:
Easy to look after, take loads of punishment and comfortable.
Weaknesses:
Sometimes a little sweaty, but I tend to have sweaty feet anyway.
Overall:
I've spent 10days trekking in Nepal wearing these and at no point did I regret my purchase.
Performed well as a 3 season boot in the lake district, including use on packed snow.
I've also done some easy climbing in them but I probably wouldn't recommended them for that.

'WELL BUILT AND COMFORTABLE BOOT'
Strengths:
comfortable from the box, good lacing arrangement, tough and not too heavy. Easy to live with and look after.
Weaknesses:
goretex lining can lead to sweaty feet, but that applies to most GTX lined boots and there is a non-goretex version available
Overall:
I've done plenty of miles over varied terrain in these and can't fault them for comfort, reliability and toughness. You can pick them up quite cheap at the moment and the £80 I paid makes them a real bargain. I probably should have gone for the non-GTX version though.

A bit pricey,
Overall:
These are my fourth pair of scarpa boot's and by far the best. i've had them four months now and they have'nt given me a minutes bother, they cover the ground well and breathability is exellent no matter how far i travel. at the end of a days hill walking my feet feel fresh and ready to go again in a word boot heaven!!

'SAD TO SAY IT, BUT UNRELIABLE.'
Strengths:
Overall a very comfortable lightweight boot.
Weaknesses:
I've gone through 2 pairs in 6 weeks...on both pairs the sole unit came away from the leather.
Overall:
The Ranger appears to have a design fault in the sole unit which results onthe sole detaching from the leather upper on both sides at the level of the ball of the foot.
