'SUPREME COMFORT AND POOR DURABILITY'
Strengths:
Comfortable from the off.
Great grip on most surfaces.
Good balance of support and flexibility.
Weaknesses:
Sole unit degrades easily
Raichle returns refunds poor
Overall:
What a shame. The most comfortable 3 season boots I have ever owned. First pair were grudgingly replace half price by Raichle because the sole started to fall off. New pair are just over a year old and are going the same way. My ML log book confrims they have managed less than 400 miles of UK walking.

'GREAT WHILE THEY LASTED...'
Strengths:
Very stable unit and practically lived & worked in them for 11 months! Great tramping, very stable with a large heavy load and better suited to the wider footed person.
Weaknesses:
None until now - 2 years on the sole unit has suddenly started to fall apart with the rubber disintegrating before my eyes... Shame, nice boot unti now!
Overall:
OK but was expecting a better life out of them. Leather upper has survived very well - sole unit has let it down... Wet Feet

'COMFORTABLE OUT OF THE BOX'
Strengths:
Waterproof
Tough
good heel cup effect
Weaknesses:
Sole not as grippy on wet rock as my old berghaus storm boots due to different type of rubber used.
Overall:
Fantastic boot, have been very pleased with them. They have never given me a blister and I have done a lot of hard miles in them. I would recommend these boots to anyone.

'FINE'
Strengths:
Comfortable
Weaknesses:
No rand, worn quite fast
Overall:
I guess I've done about 1,000 miles in them, including a fair amount of rocky terrain. My soles have stayed in one piece, but the tread has almost gone under the ball of my foot

'EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE, BUT SOLE DIDN'T LAST'
Strengths:
Comfort and great support from day one. Did not need any wearing in.
Weaknesses:
Sole lasted just over 12 months. Did a week in the Pyrenees plus about 30 other low level outings.
Overall:
Very disappointed. My last pair of boots lasted five years. I would love to buy another pair because of the fit and comfort but won't because of the price and lack of reliability.

'LOOK ELSEWHERE'
Strengths:
Very Comfortable
Waterproof
Weaknesses:
Fell apart in less than 12 hours
Overall:
On paper these boots look fantastic.
Even on my feet these boots felt great; supportive, lightweight, supremely comfortable. I have worn them at work for the last couple of months and they have been great.

Unfortunatley 12 hours on the Cuillins killed them, the soles are falling apart, the upper is very badly damaged, they look worse than the lightweight (6 year old) boots I replaced them with!

They have very little underfoot support or imoact resistance and frankly are only fit for heavily trafficked, flat terrain (such as wandering to the pub).

For a pair of boots that Trail magazine and several others were describing as the definitive 3 season boot, I'm not impressed.
I'm off to get a second pair of La Sportivas, without doubt the finest boots on the planet.

'GOOD BOOTS POOR DURABILITY'
Strengths:
Comfortable, waterproof.
Weaknesses:
No rand, the Vibram sole has disintegrated under the "rolling" midsole after a years use.
Overall:
I was pleased with these boots, the leather scuffing where a rand may have helped was a minor issue. Then the soles started to disintegrate with large sections of tread on the outside of the sole now "flapping" about. I'm now away to buy another pair of boots!
