'NOT AS GOOD AS OTHER REVIEWS SAY'
Strengths:
Light, Good design.comfortable. allows you to regulate temperature reasonable well. Windproof. Looks the business.
Weaknesses:
Not as breathable as others claim. I still get very sweaty when walking with it. The lining is highly wickable as claimed but the outer shell appears to be unable to transmit moisture as quickly as other "breathable" materials(eg goretex). I have tried it with a variety of base layers and even no layer. It is always the same.
It also is only water resistant. It will leak within 20 minutes in rain of any weight, especially around any shoulder straps if wearing a pack.
Overall:
It is ok/good as a jacket on most days even showery ones but not a substitute for having a waterproof jacket.
I still like it, but would probably not buy it if I read this review. However this jacket is windproof and light and better in many ways than a fleece. Just pack a waterproof if you think it is going to rain hard or for any length of time

'SUPERB PERFORMANCE AND VALUE FOR MONEY'
Strengths:
high windproof performance. Well designed and made. Looks good as well.
Weaknesses:
none experienced
Overall:
excellent soft shell jacket for windy conditions and showery conditions. the design and construction standards are very high. Pit zips allow temperature balance to be kept when heat output goes up. Is as good as if not better than kackets costing twice the price.

'Windproof, water resistant and breathable '
Strengths:
Price
Robust
Does the job
Weaknesses:
None I have noticed
Overall:
I have had mine for the best part of year and it has proved to be a dependable piece of kit. I have worn it most days to work and at the weekend up hills and it does not seem to wear particularly badly. It manages to remain windproof and it is also not bad at keeping you dry, although it seems to hold moisture.

'VERY IMPRESSIVE'
Strengths:
I've worn this in the Cairngorms, Snowdonia and the far NW of Scotland in three seasons (excluding winter)and it's become a real favourite of mine.

It's a well priced, well-fitting jacket that breathes well and is warm but not too warm when you're active. Pitzips help on this front as well.

The windproofing and the DWR have been very good despite the material not being a fine weave like e.g. pertex.
Weaknesses:
The old favourite of 'bargain' gear -the pockets are under the rucksack belt. If they were above the belt I'd wear it in winter too, but without handwarmer pockets I won't.

The material seems to snag more easily than, e.g. pertex - though this was after scrambling through gorse and some very rough igneous rock so it's to be expected.

I also found the neck to be a bit tight and would have preferred a looser fit with a drawcord, but for the money I'm being churlish.
Overall:
With this jacket I can now see what the fuss about 'softshell' is all about. Though I can't see why people can charge two or three times the price of this jacket - but for the niggle about the pockets it's a stormer.

'IMPRESSIVE PERFOFMANCE FOR THE PRICE'
Strengths:
bought the jacket for multi-sport use. first used as a secondary layer under a gortex motorcycle jacket on a weekend rally. slimmer and warmer than a fleece liked the narrow neck as fitted well under jacket.
Have used it for general wear walking the dog etc and is perfect for this, played golf (ok I,m no longer the hardened mountaineer I was)and the stretch in the jacket gave me no excuses about it impeding my swing, also kept me warm and dry, too warm until I remembered the vents that could be opened
Weaknesses:
does tend to catch easily but will have to review how this progresses after a longer period.
What does weatherproof mean?
Overall:
a smart looking well priced functional jacket which so far has lived up to its manufacturers promises on the label, would recommend anyone considering buying a windproof jacket to look at this jacket.
