'MERAKLON WINS AGAIN.'
Strengths:
Small, light, suprisingly warm and fast drying, ideal inner gloves that are dextrous, cheap and above all, red.
Weaknesses:
Fingers tend to wear through in a season, but for £5 or a bit of darning who cares? Quite slippy when handling wet metal stuff. Enthusiastic rubbing of hands together generates enough static electricity to keep a small town in power for a week. Don't even think about running ropes through them, they melt easily.
Overall:
In a wide range of silly colours meraklon thinnies still rule the roost as all round UK mountain wear. They make a huge difference to comfort in less than 50g, and despite occasional trials of polartec, capilene and driclime versions these remain the best for wet/mild weather use or under other gloves in the cold.

'WELL WORTH IT!'
Strengths:
Light, strong, cheap.
Weaknesses:
Easily lost, but that's my fault I suppose.
Overall:
Had to buy these as a liner for my SealSkinz which got too cold. Was really happy with the results.
