'Mmmm comfy!'
Strengths:
Comfortable, strong, fast drying
Weaknesses:
Expensive!
Overall:
Great trousers - wear mine in the office quite a lot! I would have more than one pair, but they are expensive and the slightly cheaper North Face pack pants are equally comfortable and perform possibly slightly better!

'PUB PANTS'
Strengths:
Comfortable cut, fairly baggy and fashionable for a functional trouser. Loads of pockets.
Weaknesses:
Appallingly weak fabric which pills instantly on areas of abrasion.

Expensive, and the short, wide cut won't be to everyone's taste.

Overall:
I wore these for three days and found them comfortable and practically designed.

However, the fabric pilled so badly at the back waist (rucksack contact) and crotch (bike saddle), despite relatively gentle use, that I had to take them back. I was told by the shop staff that they're only designed for 'travelling' (whatever that may be).

If you want something rather more fashionable than the average outdoor trouser for hanging round the pub in, these may well be the biz. But if you're remotely active, forget about it.

'COMFORTABLE TREKKING PANTS'
Strengths:
Wind resistant, quick drying, comfortable, light weight
Weaknesses:
Poor resistance to abrasion i.e. where rucksac sits on rear! Easily stained material. Very expensive
Overall:
Look great but can't see them lasting a year if continue to use outdoors.

'COMFY AND GOOD VALUE IN A SALE'
Strengths:
Fleece round waist and crotch removes rubbing when wet, dry quiet quickly, light, zips can double as vent. Price (i got mine for £30 in sale)Slightly windproof
Weaknesses:
Not at all warm.....legs freeze in chilly wind conditions, don't look like they'd stand up to years of scrambly abuse. List price is..OUCH
Overall:
A good summer pant for walking and backpacking use. Pack them away when the weather turns nippy if u want your legs to stay warm. Quick drying and lightweight. good looking and very comfy to wear. Just wait for them to come into the sales!

'GOOD ALL-ROUNDER'
Strengths:
Beautiful, warm in cool weather, cool in warm weather, fast-drying.
Weaknesses:
They do pile, especially around the crotch area (??).
Overall:
I wore these on Kilimanjaro (5900m) with baselayer, and Jbel Toubkal (4200m) without baselayer. On both occasions, they were perfect. They have been my all-purpose trekking trousers for 2 years and never let me down. I love the articulated knee-shape, and the side zips on the lower leg which you can open for ventilation. True they do pile, but even so the fabric doesn't tear, unlike some others I could mention. All in all, a very very useful item.

'GREAT LOOKING PANTS THAT DO THE JOB!'
Strengths:
Leg zips, connicle waist chamois lined, integral belt
Weaknesses:
Black colour attracts dirt like magnet. Can go a bit out of shape when sat down in for a long time.
Overall:
These trousers are the best ive owned after an obssesive search for more than 2 years and hundreds of pounds spent on other brands. They do the job of treking pants only adequatly but look much better when going down the pub or shops than their rivals. It all depends how vain u are!!

'BRILLIANT - THE BEST BREEKS ON THE MARKET!'
Strengths:
Comfort and fit (they do short legs for us wee guys) - quick drying, cool in summer windproof in winter. Worn loads over 4 years
Weaknesses:
Actual fabric whilst strong and hard wearing has looked v. scruufy due to pilling of fabric
Overall:
My bestest ever favourites - unfortunatly the newer models have slightly altered design ie back pockets smaller and don't take map so easily.

'ABSOLUTE FAVOURITES'
Strengths:
Comfort and durability over time. Leg zips for venting and padded hip area for comfort while wearing a pack. Quick drying.
Weaknesses:
Fabric has pilled a little on one pair.
Overall:
I have two apairs of these, the original being over 5 years old now. I used them for work surface mining in Central Asia and never had a problem with durability even though the job entailed loads of scrambling and abrasive rocks. Have also used them travelling generally and trekking in various mountain areas around the world. They do look used obviously, but are in better shape than some of my other brand pants. Despite them being expensive they have lasted better for me than any other similar product I have purchased in the last 10 years.

'VERSATILE'
Strengths:
Windproof, dry quickly, hard wearing, zips provide ventilation and mean boots can stay on. Good size pockets take map easily. Chamois works well.
Weaknesses:
Lose shape easily, but hey!
Overall:
I have used these from Mount Toubkal to the Arctic circle - with appropriate thermals they kept me comfortable in both extremes. I've also spent a full 24hrs in them doing the 3 peaks and didn't have any rubbing or chafing. My favourite trousers and I have 2 pairs - canyon pants also good for summer.
