More and more outdoor footwear brands are producing 'trail-running shoes'. Look for a sole unit that combines a low profile with slightly more cushioning and support than a pure fell shoe. You should also look for a lacing system that allows a close, wrap-around fit to stop foot slop on uneven ground and a grippy sole unit.
