A SOLUTION LOOKING FOR A PROBLEM?

Legal to carry without needing a "good reason", unlike many Leatherman or Gerber pocket tools.
Good selection of tools.
Best can opener on any pocket tool
Main knife blade is awkward to use due to wide handle, tools are a little small for serious work.
A decent enough tool if you can get it cheap (I got mine online at amazon for under £25) I keep mine in the satchel I carry about with me on a day to day basis. I'd prefer something a little more robust for heavy work, The quality can't be denied though. Victorinox make good quality stuff.

DOES EVERYTHING, BUT DOES IT DO TOO MUCH?

Lots of top quality tools. Blades keep their edge well and yet take an edge easily.
Too many features? No locking blade (I use larger Workchamp for this).
It's got everything, but has it got too much for hill use? I have mine as part of the large survival set which weighs 360g in total. I take it in winter where I may have to repair crampons etc with it, but in summer I often just take my simple (locking) Alpine model (57g) on a cord around my neck. Buy in Swizerland very cheaply (comparitively).

BRILLIANT

Contains almost everything you could ever need in a pen knife. Comfortable size in larger hands. Excellent build quality.
No pliers (I have the old pre wire cutter version). Scissors have broken, not just the spring but the pivot too; this seems to happen often to swiss Army knives. Could be too big for comfort in small hands.
I've had mine about 10 years now, and apart from the above it's been great. Very useful.

FOR THE PERSON WHO HAS EVERYTHING

Loads of stuff in a small package; well made.
Over the top
I've had this 13 years now and can honestly say I've only ever used about 4 or 5 of the tools on it. Either I don't get out enough, my life is too trouble free or the knife is way over the top for my needs - I suspect the latter. It feels really well made and still looks in perfect nick after all those years. Although I could have survived with a much more basic knife, I also know that if I didn't have this I would have lusted after it anyway and would definitely have bought it just for the top-of-the-range snobbery of it. Go on, you know you want to!
