THIS BABY DOES THE BUSINESS.

It is applied by a pump spray so it can be used over sunscreen without rubbing the former off.
There is enough DEET in to repel nasties without provoking dermatitis on sensitive skin. The bite inhibitor works, too, any of the blighters who got near enough to land soon flew away.
It works brilliantly in hot and wet situations i.e. a rainforest trek and proved an effective defence against sand flies, too.
The smell isn't one I'd choose to apply for pleasure and I had to avoid touching styrene-based plastics - the usual rigmarole. Once I forgot to reapply it after an afternoon tropical rain shower and a swim but I was only bitten the once. You do need to remember to apply it fairly religiously twice a day.
I an allergic to insect bites of all descriptions - the blisters which appear are huge and INTENSELY irritating. This product (which was recommended to me by an assistant in a Rohan shop) allowed me to really enjoy a holiday in the tropics without the usual reactions and lost sleep. The level of DEET meant that my daughter, who suffers from exczema, could wear it quite safely.
Highly recommended.
