Tough and super durable. Mines lasted 3 years so far.

Tough, cheap as chips, nice size and not too heavy.
The lid can get stuck on pretty easy if your eager screwing it on tight.
Great value for money and pretty much bombproof. You'll have a lot of difficulty breaking one of these. Be careful not to get the lid stuck on though.

Built like Giant Haystacks and just as ugly

Strong. Erm.. black, and sturdy. I've used several of these and never known one to leak or break - no matter how roughly handled. Comes with a plastic cup that fits over the top. Cheap, durable, and readily available.
Not great for heating water in. Not pretty and shiney to look at, although I personally like the stubby shape. Unfashionable, and not easy to clip onto your bike frame...
As favoured by Ray Mears, and that scary Eddie Stone bloke on 'SAS: are you tuff enuff?'
