WONDERFULLY ADDICTIVE, PORTABLE, HIGH STREET-CRED

Tasty and evocative of teas with mum years ago. Light to carry and hard to damage. Very cheap.
Clogs your teeth. Danger of being mugged by jealous fellow-hillwalkers who wish they'd brought their own. Only slightly less dangerous in this context than Tunnocks Teacakes.
Can be a highlight on a good day and a comforter on a bad one. A really sensible bit of backpacking provinder.

PERFECT FOOD

Simple, full of carbs, tastes teh same squashed, you can freeze it and you can continue to eat it even after you have finished by picking you teeth along the way!! Eat sliced, buttered or whole like I do. Good toasted too
You either like it or not. If you tear chunks off, it looks like you fingers went through the bog roll. nice!?
Just buy some. Am salivating just thinking of it!! Altogether a perfect backpacking energy source

NICE BREAKFAST FOOD

Stays fresh, doesn't mind being squashed down the side of your pack.
can't think of any
lovely for breakfast with a cup of tea on a dark damp grey morning! Oddly, Jamaican Ginger cake is another favourite, but not quite as wholesome.

PAST ITS SELL-BY DATE

Used to be the daddy of outdoor foods but...
Soreen Plum Loaf, and the new Banana Loaf, absolutely kick its ass.
Buy plum.
Buy banana.
If they've run out of both, go malt.
