Broke after 3 litres, got a replacement(eventually) this then broke within the week. Wrote a stinker of a letter to them;no reply.
Dont do it!! Its useless. need i say more?

LIGHT FILTER, BUT HARD WORK
very light, very effective
takes an age to filter water
Light and effective filter, but hard to use and pumps slowly (0.5l/min when most do 1l/min). In practice I find it takes a good 10 mins to filter 2 litres of water (and results in a sore palm from pressing the plunger). Easy to clean the filter.

SMALL, LIGHTWEIGHT, CLEANS WATER
This is a fairly well thought out lightweight product. We need water cleaning throughout the world and this WILL do it. Comes in neat little bag with all the right bits. Simple designs throughout score good points.
The output hose is loose in the bag, this means that there is the potential of cross contamination from the float, device, input hose. We have countered this with the ever magical ziplock bag, but Katadyn really should think about this a bit. The length of the output hose could also be longer.
At the price this is good. We will make a few modifications, but I have e-mailed Katadyn with the suggestions, we will have to see whether they take notice or tell me that I am being overly paranoid.

SMALL LIGHTWEIGHT WATER FILTER
Compact and lightweight. I have used this a few times when camping with friends around the hills in the lake district. It saves you having to carry heavy bottles of water, and is more than capable of filtering enough water for groups of four people.
In practice it takes around 10 minutes of pumping to fill a three litre water container free of any nasty beasties.
Does not remove viruses, but I have used one for 2 years in the lake district and have never had an upset stomach or any problems. You can always boil the water to be 100% sure.
Good reliable little filter with a useful life of 7000 litres. Filters can be very easily replaced and should last you a long time.
