LASTS AND LASTS
robust filter life of 50000 L
weight of 600g
I brought one of these before i started even thinking about pack weight, about 3 - 4 years ago. I know there are many lighter options available but I just trust it. If you used 3 litres of water a day, the filter life would last you over 45 years. I might look for something lighter one day, but those steripen things dont actually clean the water, they just kill nasties, pumps are also more versatile with regards to when/where and filling different containers. Tablets are a good option for weekend breaks and you know the waters going to be at least semi-clean but i prefer a filter for extended trips.

Highly impressive- unbreakable feel-fast flow rate
This is a fabulous filter. It is a bit bigger and heavier than some filters but it's construction is second to none. I think it would really handle some rough treatment. The flow rate is excellent filling large SIGG bottles in no time at all. It will treat 50,000 litres before the element needs replacing- I imagine unless you live off the filter it will last for years. Lifetime warranty form the company
The price is very high and most people will not be able to justify the cost of nearly £200 for this item. However i purchased mine from the US on e-bay and even with the postage and customs charges it came to no more than an MSR miniworks filter. The bargins are out there for the taking if you are patient
Unless you can find a bargin example this item is probably overenginered for most people's use. However if you can find one cheaper than RRP this is an excellent filter that will outperform and outlast anything else on the market.
