I have a pair - used them up in the hills for about a month before the snow settled in - I think they are just great. Usually in the past I have just bought whichever low cost Merrell approaches I could afford. These are quite something else in terms of comfort, support and how they stick to your feet. I'll be getting another pair. Maybe this time even before these curent ones fall completely apart. They needed a bit of aesthetic trimming (too much superflous detail, which I sliced off ) Bit of a Haglofs fan in other areas, and now I am one in the shoe area

They are very comfortable, although they take a little more wearing in than a lot of approach shoes. My only real reservation is that the tread is a bit shallow and is already looking a little worn on my shoes after six months or so.
