NOT BAD IF THEY FIT YOU (AND YOU CAN STAND THE SMELL!)
Good-looking design. Nice, grippy sole.
Quite wide so need firm lacing if you have normal / narrow feet. For some reason, mine absolutely stink! I haven't used them that much and I've always worn them with clean, Smartwool socks but they ming something terrible! I've no idea why as I don't have smelly feet. I thought that it might be something to do with the Goretex lining but I also own a pair of Meindl Goretex-lined boots and there is no problem with them. I'm keeping the pong at bay with a spray-in footwear freshener but it's bloody annoying.
Great if you have wide feet and no sense of smell. A real shame because otherwise a great shoe in terms of sole and looks.

TOUGH AND COMFORTABLE
good fit, sturdy, lightweight construction, decent grip, all-day comfort
expensive. Not convinced about the practicality of XCR lining
I use these shoes for most of my walking these days, using my boots only for very rocky or very muddy terrain. Despite the gore-tex lining, water can get in fairly easily through the mesh upper. The best thing I can say about these shoes is that you forget you're wearing them, even after a very long day in the hills. When you don't particularly notice a piece of equipment, you know it's doing it's job well.

GOOD COMFORTABLE, BUT EXPENSIVE
Well built, good looking (IMHO), comfortable, normal good Meindl fit, goretex, decent sole.
Rather rubbish laces, When I forst got them I had an issue with the piece of plastic around the heel. Very expensive...
I got mine off ebay for £30, but I would struggle to pay full price for these shoes. My rating is based on the price I payed not RRP.
These are good solid performers from a good solid shoe company. As I have noted before I really didn't like the plastic around the heel (and almost got rid of them because of it), but after a bit of wearing-in I found that thankfully the problems went away. It is definitely worth trying these on for a while in the shop before buying.
Personally I find them a good looking alternative to the rather dull looking Magic range, with build and performance right up there with the rest of the premier league of shoes (Salamon, Scarpa, Raichle etc).
If you are looking for premium shoes like these and they fit then you can do far worse than these.

EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE/ SOFT WEARING
I found these shoes extremely comfortable for my high arched, wide feet, something I find rare to come by. Clamps heel in well.
Soles wear down in less than 6 months. Shoe lace snaps. Lifting of sole from base of shoe around edges.
I have had two pairs of these approach shoes now, the reason being, my first ones fell to bits, and then Meindl replaced them with another pair. Each time they have proved extremely comfortable, but they then wear extremely thin. Im thinking of getting some Raichles now..
