HARDWEARING AND COMFORTABLE

After several weeks heavy abuse including, mud, marsh and sea (I misjudged the wave...) they look as good as new. No perceptable tread wear and just the most minor of creases to the leather.

Adequate support and don't feel 'dead' underfoot.

Dry but not sweaty feet.
Grip on wet rock could be better (no worse than average though).

Not overly light.
My choice of footwear is limited by having large and wide feet with narrow heels, but with shoes of this standard that fit pretty well I'm not too disappointed.

Tough and durable, coping with mud and sea water. The grip/wear balance seems to be on the wear side, but grip is fine on all but the smoothest of wet rock.

The only time I've had wet feet in these is when sea water entered where my ankle goes mis-judging a wave but they dried fine. I've had no problems with water getting in whilst standing in shallow streams or marsh.

Weight saving over a lightweight suede/fabric boot isn't much but they don't feel too heavy.

Price seems pretty average, quality a bit above.

BEEN OK, BUT WEARING OUT NOW

Durable and OK for roads and smooth trails. A little bit soft, though offering fair stability... nothing special though. Look OK, not flash like silly modern trainers (which I would never wear), so can be worn casually.
Toes taper too much, causing my toe to touch on one which isn't ideal. (Right size, just the design). Make my feet sweat quite badly after just an hour. (Many shoes / boots do, though these are pretty bad in this regard).
Shame about the sweat problem. Fair value if you find them well discounted, otherwise don't think they are worth the £60 RRP. I'll be looking at the Vibram soled shoes next time.

THEY JUST GO ON AND ON!

Hammered them and they refuse to give up. They've been in the sea, soaked in diesel, you name it and there's hardly any wear on them. I've had no such probs with snapping laces.
Hot in summer - sometimes!

HAD TO TAKE THESE LACE-CHEWING MONSTERS BACK

Comfortable, grippy, stable shoe.
Sturdy construction, good toe protection, not as easily mistaken for trainers as some others.
Not too hot on your feet.
The somewhat elaborate lacing eyes saw through laces. Laces last between two weeks and two days.
I liked these approach shoes. Good job as it took 5 weeks to find a pair that fitted well.

I wore them for two weeks round work etc and thought I'd made a good buy. Then one of them bid 'good bye' to my foot and fell off.

It turned out the lace had worn through and the other was on the way. By then I was in the Lakes for a week's holiday so I bought new laces and went walking. The laces wore on both shoes within two days. Very inconvenient when you're a long way from home up a hill and your shoes want to leave you. Judicious use of the granny knot and the spare laces I had with me saw me through.

Took them back to the shop for a refund to be told they had never heard of this before, which is odd because the other reviewer had the same problem. However, the evidence of laces with 10 knots each could not be denied.

This was a real shame as they were a good pair of shoes, but when the laces go they fall off your feet very quickly. Dangerous to say the least!

Comfort

Comfort, whether walking or just sitting in the office.
Enough flex that you can drive in them.
Keep your feet cool (temperature wise).
Look a bit like trainers.
The laces snapped after one month (wore when then bent round the metal lace loops.
Really comfortable walking / leisure shoe.
