SUPER COMFY RIGHT FROM THE OFF

I have very broad "Hobbit" feet and often find that I need to "wear-in" footwear, but no probs with these (I'm surprised that some others have had to buy bigger than normal). The XCR waterproofing has proven OK too, though they've not been exposed to serious conditions. Grip mostly OK, but smooth wet surfaces occasionally catch them out slightly (beware water features in public places), no problems on the rough.
Nothing so far except the "slippery surfaces issue"
Excellent, a good replacement for my old Salomons (which did need a wear-in as I found to my cost on a w/e in barcelona with no spare footwear) - probably the best I've ever had.

FEW PROBLEMS THAT PREVENTS THIS BEING GREAT

good sole on dry surfaces.
breathes well
can irritate at the ankles due the the solid style.
sole is absolutely rubbish on wet surfaces
the insoles slip back which really annoy me.
im disappointed with these, they should be much better than they actually are..

GOOD, BUT DIED TOO QUICKLY

Sole excellent on most surfaces.
Excellent cushoning.
Very breathable and quick drying.
Wonderful fit and can be kept on for long periods without causing problems.
Vibram sole pretty poor on wet metal.
Upper material not as tough as others and they smell really bad after a while.
This is a superb approach shoe, with only minor faults. It suits my foot better than the Slam II because it's wider across the toes. I've worn out one pair and bought a second because of the comfort from day one. They're even ok for some light off-road jogging. I've abused them thoroughly and they've have done pretty well, I just wish they were a bit tougher.

FAVE TRAINERS AT THE MOMENT

Comfy, hard wearing (I have the newer ones), don't attract dirt. Look good in black and silver.
Needed a bigger size than normal by a half size. Can slip on wet pub floors.
I can't get enough of Merrell at the moment. This is the 3rd pair of their footwear I've bought this year. Constucted well, nice fit for wide feet. Laces stay done up. Dead comfy even after a 20mile hike. Never got a blister yet, even when out clubbing.

A GEM OF A SHOE

Tough, extremely comfortable.
Ventilation, plus I found they are sized one size too small, I am a 10...but had to take an 11 in these
A fantastic shoe that has been over all terrains that I can throw at it and it has survived so far....recommended
