GREAT FOR GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CRAG - OR THE TOP

Good sticky rubber sole & rand
Supportive construction
Ideal for easier climbs, without changing into toe-pinching rock shoes
Toe unit is ideal for pockets
Montrail sizing is a bit out - I had to go up half a size
Sole unit is slippy on mud or loose surfaces - could do with some grip
Fantastic approach shoe, that's also useful for shinning up easier climbs (I've used mine on a Severe). Stiff edge construction gives loads of confidence. I've even run back to the car with them over 4 miles, and not suffered as I would have done with my old Salomons - the Low Profile seems to help me stick close to the ground.

Top notch scrambling shoe

Fantastic for scrambling/VF.
Can be worn on very low level climbs.
Excellent grip when on the hard stuff, good for edging and great grip all round the shoe.
I like yellow.
Not that comfy for all day walking.
Not particularly good for mud or loose surfaces. Particularly gravel on top of rock - v slippy.
Design is "a bit loud".
A fantastic shoe for scrambling - they fill you with confidence due to high levels of grip and edging ability. I took mine to Italy last year and wore them all the time. The only time I took them off was to do higher grade or high level Via Ferrata where you needed a mtn boot.

For low grade VF or where there wasn't the need for mtn boots they performed admirably.

They're really comfy for just messing about or going down your local. Wouldn't recommend you do a 15 mile hike in them though.

Check 'em out - you can get them in sales now for about £40 if you shop around. If yellow's your thing then they're great.
