OW MY FEET
Soles provide good grip Aesthetics
Destroyed my feet rubbing blisters where there was stitching when i wore them for longer periods in hot conditions (ie when you need sandles!)
They smell worse than shoes
These looked to be promising, but I was disappointed with the painful blisters they caused. They are ok for wearing over shorter periods.

COOL, COMFY, CHEVRONS
Light, grippy, cool and comfy
Very few. The soles can get whiffy after a very hot day, but then can't everything?
I've had mine for four years, in which time they've been walked round towns and cities, over hill paths, round the house, pretty much everywhere my feet have been when the weather's been warm (including work, sometimes). They've been absurdly comfortable from the off, the soles have a great grip, they're only now beginning to show signs of wear and for the price they count as a real bargain. The upper part of my feet have chevrons on them year-round now, from the sun falling on them in space between the front two straps. They look just fine until you take the sandals off, when they can look a little unusual...but by their suntanned chevrons shall you know them, the happily besandalled Merrell wearers...

DISAPPOINTED
good grip, soles are hard wearing, decent cushioning on bottom of feet
i took a pair travelling for six months last year, they were comfortable to start with then within 3 months the upper part started to get a bit worn and giving me nasty blisters on the inside of my feet towards the back where there seems to be a hard piece of plastic, or at least its hard when they start to wear. also the plastic merrell branding on the rear strap cracked up and fell off. (i assume my kona's were real because i bought them from Cotswold at their South Cerney store)
decent soles, the upper seems to have some quality problems - quickly wears if you wear them constantly.
I really should have bought some michelins in ethiopia as they looked more cofortable than my kona's became.

AHHH...THE COMFORT....
Durbale, good wear resistance. Use for backpacking, short summer walks, slipper substitute...excellent grip
honestly none that i can think of
Much better than my Chameleons! Worth every penny...practically wear mine every day at some point and they're still as comfortable, don't look half bad either.

ALL ROUND EXCELLENT, VALUE FOR MONEY
I have had a pair of two years, and they still show no sign of wear, though I have used them constantly. Great for being by the sea or gorge scrambling, they dry quickly and provide a secure grip of the foot
can rub sometimes when wearing for the first time
great sandals would never have another pair
