GOOD VALUE - BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

I replaced an earlier model of these boots because they were getting tired. They had always performed well and kept me dry etc and were very comfortable even after wearing them for long periods of time.
After about six months of wearing them they started to seem a little uncomfortable, particularly at the heel, inside. The liner is stitched up the back of the heel and this had become rough, and my heel started to suffer. I may have to retire them in favour of something else now, which is a shame.
Good value boot. Check the build of the actual boots you are buying to make sure they are o.k.

VERY COMFY JUST DON'T ASK TOO MUCH OF THEM

Little breaking in required.
Remain waterproof even through neglect.
Generally a very comfortable boot for a long days walk.
Where the stitching meets the sole at the front of the boot was the undoing of these boots. As this is just on the point where the boot bends it eventually the stiching came undone leading to a wet foot.
Sole is not as sticky on rock as other boots.
Insole died very early.
If inside of the boot does get wet they can take a while to dry.
For under £80 RRP they are a great walking boot. For anything more strenuous choose another boot.

NEVER LET ME DOWN!

Comfortable from day one. I've never had a blister from these (honestly). I'm confident enough with these to stride straight across a shallow river (as long as the water isn't going to spill over the top) and not get my feet wet. I have used these on multi-day excursions and they've never let me down.
The fabric parts can get damaged quite easily if walking through stiff dried heather (the threads start to get pulled out), but this doesn't have any effect on the dryness, only makes them look a bit scruffy.
They only tend to last me a couple of years, but they're not expensive and don't need to be broken in.
I am on my second pair of Berghaus explorers. Currently using the previous version (bought for just £50) and have had the version before that as well.
Basically, I don't need to even think about which boots I'm going to buy when I've trashed these.

OK BUT NOT PERFECT!

Durable, long lasting, fairly waterproof, comfortable(even with my British wide feet)good levels of grip and durability fom the soles.I've had them for 4 years & they're still going strong
take to long to dry out(doesn't seem to happen over night!) and do leak in a very wet environment.
a good walking boot but not I'd recomend them for to harsh an environment. Five days on Dartmoor in a wet autumn was to much for them. Although my feet only got damp NOT totally sodden.

SUPER VALUE FOR MONEY

Very comfortable. I mean wow how light weight and just generally comfortable. Dont really feel that they are like a pair of hiking boots more like a pair of comfortable training shoes with ankle support. Very dry and well gore tex do we need to say more?
Not very good for scrambling but for the money I payed I dont think that that will ever be an issue for me....
Lets just say i didn't even need a new pair of boots but when I saw that Millets were doing them for £25 I dont think that anyone in their right mind could possibly pass up these little babies....Very happy with the performance from my fourth pair of Berghaus and bonus they work with my Yeti gaitors.
Truth be known at full price there is no way I would have spent the money when I could have spent a few quid extra and got a really good pair of all round boots. I dont think I will use these for much more than walking out to meet groups and the odd day hike here in Northern Ireland but hey very happy I have added these to my kit bag.
