...to the best of my knowledge, all Meindl's non-leather boots are made in China and not Germany as with their leather boots. I actually went to their Bavarian factory shop to get my last pair of boots and was told this. I mention it, as there are not many companies who 'make their own' boots these days and it was a factor in my previous purchase.

btw, most of the Meindl shop is actually devoted to lederhosen. You really have to see it to get the idea. It isn't cheap, but there were some really cool Keith Richards 60s style long lederhosen trousers that would've been really seriously cool!!

Very comfortable, good flex lengthways and lateral stiffness, solid feel underfoot
 
Can feel a little clumsy if you're used to lightweight footwear, though not overly so
