FIT LIKE A GLOVE

Hard wearing, all sizes will fit soeone, not one size fits all,4 season, waterproof and will take walging crampons.
Heavy for summer use, can be too hot in summer.
Altberg have a fitting service second to none. Worth visiting the shop to get a proper fit. I chose this boot for winter walking,(with and without crampons). The sloes grip that well I find I can put off wearing crampons till I reach the sheet ice. Used my pair all year round for the past 2 years. At the end of every walk dry feet and no blisters. Just got a pair of Altberg Fremingtons for summer when my Mallerstangs will be in for a re-sole.

Robust, Durable, British, High Quality Leather Walking Boots

Ideal for damp, boggy, rocky British walking torrain.
Made to endure and last.
Excellent personal fitting service at factory in Richmond.
British last with half sizes and 5 width fittings and customising service!
Can be repaired and resoled at the factory
Hot for warm dry summer days.
A little heavier than some.
As an outdoor instuctor I am on a mission to find a pair of good quality, comfortable walking boots that will last me more than a couple of years. These may be the answer.

A year ago I booked an apointment and had a professional fitting at the Altberg factory. My feet allowed an off the peg fitting but over the way from me a customer was having the full made to measure service.

These boots are obviously more robust and durable than modern "branded" boots. They are only showing moderate signs of wear compared to my previous Raichle GTXs which lasted just 18 months. Althogh not so comfortable out of the box they now are getting really well fitted to my feet and very comfy.

I am really pleased with the fit, ankle support and confident grip these boots give me. They have consistently kept my feet dry in the worst of conditions.

Its looking possible that I have found the answer I am looking for.
