Ouch! Wore them for 10 days in Spain. Took two months to recover from the blisters

Nicely made. Leather inside and out and definitely waterproof now they've stopped putting the 'Brasher' label right through the Goretex liner, and the latest pair have reverted to the much easier to thread bootlace eyes.
Thought this third pair would be as good as the first two pairs - which I wore on long treks straight out of the box without a hitch. Managed a mile and a half before retiring with bad blisters and the need to buy some sandals to wear for the rest of what was supposed to be a spring weekend in the lakes. The ten day trip to the Sierra Nevada became an agony of trying to find a solution for walking with outsize blisters. Nothing really helped and it took over two months for my feet to finally recover. They must have changed the last - and mangled up the heel cup. It simply doesn't fit.
Brasher - stop messing about with successful lasts. You did not need to improve them, and you've actually done just the opposite. Now I have to find another style for my feet and I'm not happy.

SUPERB BOOT

Lightwieght for leather, and totally comfortable day in day out, excellent hardwearing gortex liner as well keeps feet dry provided you have good gaiters due to low ankle.
Leather wears out quickly and cracks if subjected to high level rocky hill routes ie certain scottish munros as i have used them for!
Perfect for lower level, moorland, hill tracks-which is what they are designed for, but I have used them much higher without significant problems but both the uppers and sole will wear out quickly. I am currently after another pair but try getting a pair of 11 and a half nigh impossible so they must be selling well or i've just got big feet! Had my last pair ten years, with plenty of hard pounding, so I've has my moneys worth.

COMFORTABLE AND WATER TIGHT

Light, Gore-Tex lined, weatherproof and breathable. Confortable out of the box.
Sole too soft for hills, no grip on wet moss covered rocks.
Excellent low level walking boot.

VERY COMFORTABLE, TOTALLY WATERPROOF, VERY LIGHT.

Fit like a glove straight from the box. The goretex lining is behind a leather inner, meaning that your long toenails won't puncture it. Totally waterproof. Nice rolling action, very light.
Soles wear down alarmingly quickly, and not very grippy, despite shedding mud well. Need resoling regularly, which can be quite expensive. Leather on the uppers is very thin so cracks easily and scuffs badly on rocks. Not very supportive due to low ankle and soft leather.
Very good quality lowland leather walking boots. Very light. Not ideal for hard wear and tear, or taking up mountains (although I have worn them up a grade 2 scramble on Glyder Fach and they were okay).Totally waterproof - ideal for the Peak District and Pennines, which is where I live!
