BOOTS FOR THE TRADITIONALIST
Similar to the last generation of Scarpa SLs but more basic and much cheaper (rrp £100 but can be had for as little as £40). A one-piece leather construction ensures dry comfortable feet and the robust sole unit gives good grip on pretty much any terrain - I've only lost my footing once in these and that was descending wet rock in the dark.
They need a bit of breaking in, nothing major just a couple of low level walks on easier tracks. Also, although they're a good wide fit they seem to be a little on the short side so if you're planning on using these as winter boots with thick socks you may need to go up a size (or have them stretched).
Should be called Contour Classic because that's what they are: good old fashioned leather boots with stiff aggressive soles and no 'breathable' linings or other rubbish. The more you wear them the better they get.

TOUGH HILLWALKING B1 BOOT
I've been kicking around the pennines in these for a whole weekend and they still need more breaking in.Tough.
The one piece leather upper is pretty stiff which is a good start for any boot I'll be using for walking right through winter. The Contour own brand sole feels ok, on grass and rock.The lace hooks are pretty standard but I've found them fine.
If you like the Scarpa SL you'll like these.
You don't get the anatom padding you'll find in the Scarpa SL, but your not paying 150 quid either.
I've found these boots like other Contour boots, really great for the price, I got my Assaults for 60 pounds deliverd to the door.A quality product.
These are sturdy mountain boots without the frills and do exactly the job they where built for.
