VERY NICE BOOTS BUT THEY DO SCUFF VERY EASILY

comfortable
breathable
warm
waterproof
not too expensive
they look fairly tatty after not a lot of use. The toe area really should've had rubber reinforcements / toe cap to protect the front of the boot or somthing similar.
I do like them, but i'm not happy with the way they look after only a few hikes in them. Walking a lot on moorland you can't help but walk over and around a lot of granite rocks and these boots have zero tolerance to them, they get ripped to shreds. Next time i'll be buying a boot that has a rubber toecap or suitable protection to prevent scuffing in future. I bought them as they were the only boot which had an eVENT mebrane and this feature of the boot works very well as they are breathable and waterproof. Not for summer use though as they're too hot.

LOOK THE PART, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE NOT

The Hi-Tec® Pinnacle hiking boot for men features a waterproof full-grain leather upper and eVENT® membrane which help keep your foot dry during inclement weather conditions. The Dri-lex® moisture-wicking lining wicks away moisture away from your foot, providing comfort. The boot also boasts a Vibram® rubber outsole that delviers maximum traction on both wet and dry surfaces.
Scruff far too easily. The leather is awfully prone to scruffing. So invest in a loads of polish. Ankle support not as firm as made out to be.
A major reason I got this particular boot was because of the supposed extra ankle support. First time wearing them I went over on one heal.It is still sore. The boot is also wide fitting, which did not help. Also get rid of the insole as it is not very comfortable and buy substitutes. I wanted a pair of boots for summer waer as my Salamon Pro Trek 7 GTXs were a might too heavy. I now realise that better a bit heavyand more safe and robust than these boots.
