TOP NOTCH BOOTS

Out-of-box comfort.
Remarkably hard wearing-I've hammered mine for nearly 5 years and they are only just starting to look tatty.
Lightweight.
Excellent sole unit: good grip in wet/mud/slippery grass.
Few. For some reason I have got through a lot of laces on these boots, but that may be the fault of the laces rather than the boots.
Superbly comfortable boot. Ideal for spring-to-autumn use on the hills in any terrain.

GREAT UNLINED LEATHER BOOTS

Fantastic build quality, Very comfortable, not much breaking in needed, No waterproof/breathable liner to wear out. (and they look good, always important)
A bit too much stitching on the upper, price (both of these are minor quibbles), Hard sole can be a bit slippy on wet rocks.
Really nice boots, felt good straight out of the box but a bit weird after a few miles until they settled down(I guess thats the MFS doing its stuff)but now I can put them on and forget about them, These are the first boots I have had with no goretex liner and I am impressed with the performance, no leaking and good breathability (these keep my feet drier than any of the Fabric/suede lined boots I have had in the past.

The lack of a waterproof liner encourages you to look afer them as well (which I never bothered to do properly with lined boots, a bad habit that hits you in the wallet in the long run).

SUBLIME COMFORT AND SUPPORT

Extremely comfortable
Good sole
Good value (purchased for £85- a bargain or what!?)
Excellent build quality
No sticky Goretex lining
None that I can think of.....
I purchased these two days before embarking on 190 mile coast to coast walk, after I made the horrible discovery that I had "lost" my then current boots. I had nightmares about my feet getting ripped to pieces while they were breaking in, but they really were comfortable out of the box.

VERY VERY NICE

Comfy, great lacing system, good sole for all terrains, just leather, no Gortex
A rubber rand would be the icing on the cake
Really good boot, I thoroughly enjoy my time in the hills since getting them, a welcome replacement from my Manta's, which were a bit tough. Some tweaking necessary to get the lacing tension right for your foot, and a good pair of insoles a must (got some great Eva ones off ebay). They're a bit slippy sometimes, but small price to pay for such a great boot.
