BEST BOOTS I'VE EVER OWNED

I have the model without the membrane and they are completely waterproof even when scuffed and in dire need of treatment four days into a walk not a drop of Scottish bog made it into my boots. Comfortable, breathable, supportive and the quality is as good as you could imagine.
Full price is expensive. I got a pair from field and trek for 65 quid but discounts like that are rare. I had been prowling the internet for a while looking for a sale price.
I will be buying Meindl boots for the rest of my life if they are all as good as these.

COMFORTABLE, SUPPORTIVE, BRILLIANT

No breaking in required, amazingly comfortable, MFS system works great, even my sweaty feet stay dry and loads of support for your feet
None really, but they aren't cheap and I wonder if I really need the gortex lining.
A top notch boot- especially, if like me you have large and wide feet. A great action in the sole and comfortable enough to wear in town

GOOD VALUE? ABSOLUTELY!

Fit from the off, with no need to break in hardly.
Sumptious leather inside and classic looks outside.
Lacing system that works and also not too heavy.
Pushed to name any. Not cheap BUT worth every penny.
'Vibram sole can slip a bit in the wet' is the worst fault I can offer.
Needed new boots for a 3 week trip to the Canadian Rockies and did 12mls in them before I left. Walked 150mls or so, in just over 2 weeks, in pouring rain, snow and mud (usual stuff). Did I get a blister? Not one!!! I was amazed.
The MFS system seems to work, They are just the comfiest boots I've ever owned. The lacing system took a bit of getting used to after my old boots- now, I just know which bit to tighten.
The only time my feet got hot was after a 18 mile hike, up and down only, at a fair pace. The soles could have been a bit softer then, but that may be due to the Superfeet insoles I use.
Can't say I'll ever regret the cost, they should be suitable for South America next year, along with the splendid hills we have in the UK.
If they fit your feet as they do mine, buy them, I can't imagine a better quality boot .
