VERY disappointed, soles fell off, lining split, leather split, only 2 years old -top dollar for NOT top boots

Comfortable (VERY comfortable)
Very expensive - Soles fell off - Leather split - Lining split all in under 2 years use.... And I only use them to walk the dog
Great boots but I cannot recommend them. Bought mine just over 2 years ago but my experience has not been great. Had a pair of Dolomite prior which lasted me close to 10 years. Decided to buy top notch and these are top notch top price boots. I was not disappointed initially. These boots were so comfy i wore them ALL the time (apart from work and formal occasions). Unfortunately the leather split despite being polished weekly and the heel lining split also (not too much of a bother). The straw that broke the camels back was when the sole came away on the right boot, closely followed about 6 weeks later by the left. I decided then to return the boots via Black to see what could be done. They went away to Deutschland to be returned 8 weeks later stating they were beyond repair and out of warranty. NOT HAPPY - why did it take 8 weeks and why were they beyond repair. Dog walking and normal leisure wear - nothing else. I really wanted them repaired (I LOVE THEM) but I will not buy another pair as I simply cannot afford for the same to happen again.

ROBUST UPPERS BUT SOLES???

the uppers have lasted really well usual scuffs and scrapes from 20 months of low level walks, hiking and mud bath scout camps
the soles are beginning to come adrift on both boots, very upset to have shelled out £120 for boots that are not lasting
if the soles can be replaced I would think these boots ok but I have had cheap eastern european that have lasted twice as long before the soles wore out

COMFY, TOUGH, AND JUST ALL ROUND AWESOME!

The comfort that this boot provides cant be stressed enough. Straight from the box they fit like a glove, and just get better.
As of yet I haven't discovered any.
Lovely looking, comfortable and durable. Best boot I have had the pleasure to wear.

SUPERBLY MADE, TOUGH BUT FLEXIBLE, FITS LIKE A GLOVE

Fantastic fit around the heel, nice high rand, well-padded, good lacing system, tough as nails and usable in all but extreme heat.
The lacing system makes it quite easy to overtighten these, as I found out to my cost when first using them.
I bought these as my first pair of proper boots (I'd previously worn hand-me-downs). Having suffered with blisters, heel rub and sweaty feet for years, these were a revelation. They're quite stiff when new, so I'd recommend doing two or three short (i.e. under 3 miles) walks in them to break them in. I did an 8 miler with them and over-tightened the laces (easy to do with the superb lacing system) which really pinched my ankles.
Second time out with them was great. The fit is so snug that you can have the laces pretty loose and your feet still don't move around. I did fourteen miles including some pretty steep uphills and not a single blister (and I'm prone to them).
These boots are fantastic all-rounders for nearly all conditions that the British hills can throw at you. I'm looking forward to really testing them out in some rain or snow. Well worth the money.

BEST BOOTS I'VE HAD BY MILES

Comfort out of the Box, waterproofing is excellent.
Not found one yet
OK I've not had them that long, or walked all that far in them but when I put them on for the first time after finally retiring my old KSB's it felt like heaven. Even more so at the end of the day when I took them off and I didnt feel like I'd been for more than a stroll to the shops.

The build quality seems excellent, the grip is good and the lacing system lets you really tighten the boot to prevent any foot movement.

Initial thoughts after a few outings are that these are cracking boots.
