Its only been three months but I really love the Scarpa I purchased to replace the Meindl
Meindl - great boot but just fell apart after only 2 years (dog walking - never even made it to a mountain, hill, hillock, tuft small incline!)
Scarpa - AWESOME. really comfy and really robust. VERY impressed so far.
Meindl - see my earlier post...just too many
Scarpa - none yet but I will be ruthless if any appear
Very pleased with the Scarpa - excellent replacement at significantly less cost than the Meindl

VERY Disappointed - leather split and soles fell off in only 2 years dog walking
VERY COMFORTABLE - but that's all.
Leather split at toe flex. Both soles fell off Lining split.
Great boots but I cannot recommend them. Bought mine just over 2 years ago but my experience has not been great. Had a pair of Dolomite prior which lasted me close to 10 years. Decided to buy top notch and these are top notch top price boots. I was not disappointed initially. These boots were so comfy i wore them ALL the time (apart from work and formal occasions). Unfortunately the leather split despite being polished weekly and the heel lining split also (not too much of a bother). The straw that broke the camels back was when the sole came away on the right boot, closely followed about 6 weeks later by the left. I decided then to return the boots via Black to see what could be done. They went away to Deutschland to be returned 8 weeks later stating they were beyond repair and out of warranty. NOT HAPPY - why did it take 8 weeks and why were they beyond repair. Dog walking and normal leisure wear - nothing else. I really wanted them repaired (I LOVE THEM) but I will not buy another pair as I simply cannot afford for the same to happen again.
UPDATE - After a trip to Blacks (they were VERY sympathetic as they failed to understand how the boots could have been so bad also)I decided to buy another pair - BUT NOT MEINDL (despite being offered a very generous discount). I went with a pair of SCARPA Terra GTX - they fit like a glove and I am hoping they can give me a long and robust experience (certainly they cannot be any worse than the Meindl). Watch this space for updates

BRILIANT, SERVED ME WELL FOR 5 YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG.
Warm Waterproof Sharp edges to sole, good for scrambling around rock (even climbed HVD route in them!) Feel great.
Expensive, though if you pays your money you takes your choice! Can scuff easily but better if leather cared for.
As someone who resents spending lots of money on kit I am pleased that these boots are as good now as they were when I bought them and have taken on everything I have espected of them. They are very comfortable, if a little warm in the summer.

possibly the best boot in the world.
Looks gorgeous, feels like you are wearing slippers, waterproof as anything, SO breathable, you barely sweat, VERY comfy (again), excellent customer service, very grippy soles, smell lovely.
price is high, but not really, because you get what you pay for, and these are excellent boots. quite heavy, but again, they are excellently waterproofed and insulated, so the weight is justified.
A brilliant boot, with tonnes of features, made by an excellent company.

NOT WORTH THE CASH
supposedly 'the' hillwalking boot - not for scottish weather or hills though kinda comfortable
too expensive took ages to get scuffs sorted heavy, too heavy for a 3 season boot and too heavy for a less than robust boot
I was very disappointed. Mine had a leak - I was reimbursed, and I did not get another pair.
