Brilliant

I have had these boots for over two years and have used them in the Lake District, Derbyshire, low level walks in Leicestershire and all over the place. They have been used in torrential rain, deep snow, hot dry weather, in fact most of the conditions that can be thrown at a pair of boots.

They have been comfortable from the first wearing. They have not let in the slightest drop of water even when walking through deep wet grass.

There is little sign of wear after 2 1/2 years being used once or twice a week.
Can get hot in very hot weather. The sole has been slightly damaged in contact with a hard sharp surface.
A boot to highly recommend. A boot for comfort (for my feet which are long and thin with a high arch)

Poor manufacturing quality control and even worse customer service

Very comfortable. Not the lightest boot but you soon forget you are wearing them - they get lighter as bits fall off.
The cushioning above the sole crumbled and collapsed on one boot. The other is still OK. Riachle/Mammut will not admit to a problem. They offered to pay half of repair cost if I can product original invoice!!
Customer service does not exist at this company. Read the other reviews on this and other sites. A name change will not help. I will never buy the brand again.

COMFORTABLE & RELIABLE (SO FAR)

Fantastically comfortable. 18 months and many miles and soles still in one piece.
None
Keep waiting for the soles to disintegrate per other reports but so far so good. Great boot unless that happens. Only cost 40 quid out of TKMaxx so won't be too disappointed.

COMFORTABLE BUT FALLS TO BITS

Very comfortable and does what it says on the box.
I have had 2 pairs and with both of them the sole has fallen apart. This is within months of having the boot.
A great boot a pity Raichle cannot get the sole right

COMFORTABLE, PERFORMS WELL, FALLS APART VERY QUICKLY.

Very comfortable and does not need to be broken in. Performs well on all slopes.
Soft leather uppers get lots of nicks when walking over rocky ground. What is worse though is the sole unit that falls apart very quickly. I got my first pair in May 2006 and by February 2007 I noticed one sole had split right accross and the other was partially split. I took them back to the shop who sent them off to Raichle. I was told by the people in the shop that this had been a common fault but that it had now been sorted. I was given the chance of another new pair but had to pay an additional £20 as the price had gone up! The new pair had a different sole unit however this has fallen apart both under the sole and along the side of the sole unit!!
Admittedly I wear my boots 3 or 4 times a week but I would have thought they would last longer than 10 months (both pairs).

A good comfortable boot that performs well, but bearing in mind they are not very robust, poor value for money.
