TOUGH LEATHER BOOTS, ALTHOUGH HOT IN SUMMER AND A LITTLE HEAVY.

They lasted me 3 years, protected my feet well. No major blisters while wearing them in and they suit my broad feet well.
Bit heavy and sweaty i guess thats the case with all gore footwear tho.
The rubber rand eventually started to split from the sole and they started to leak badly, (After 3 years!). Did the Cape Wrath Trail in them however.
Got foot sore if walking long distances on roads.
Would recommend them although i may try and get the non GTX version and just wear goretex socks if nessary. As they take an age to dry if they do get wet inside and the goretex makes them very warm.
I would recommend these boots for scrambling as they are great on rock, hill walking, and long distance routes.

RELIABLE AND COMFORTABLE

Easy to look after, take loads of punishment and comfortable.
Sometimes a little sweaty, but I tend to have sweaty feet anyway.
I've spent 10days trekking in Nepal wearing these and at no point did I regret my purchase.
Performed well as a 3 season boot in the lake district, including use on packed snow.
I've also done some easy climbing in them but I probably wouldn't recommended them for that.

WELL BUILT AND COMFORTABLE BOOT

comfortable from the box, good lacing arrangement, tough and not too heavy. Easy to live with and look after.
goretex lining can lead to sweaty feet, but that applies to most GTX lined boots and there is a non-goretex version available
I've done plenty of miles over varied terrain in these and can't fault them for comfort, reliability and toughness. You can pick them up quite cheap at the moment and the £80 I paid makes them a real bargain. I probably should have gone for the non-GTX version though.

SAD TO SAY IT, BUT UNRELIABLE.

Overall a very comfortable lightweight boot.
I've gone through 2 pairs in 6 weeks...on both pairs the sole unit came away from the leather.
The Ranger appears to have a design fault in the sole unit which results onthe sole detaching from the leather upper on both sides at the level of the ball of the foot.

A GOOD QUALITY BOOT

Soft supple boot easy to maintain. good strong and light build. able to take punishment.
A bit pricey,
These are my fourth pair of scarpa boot's and by far the best. i've had them four months now and they have'nt given me a minutes bother, they cover the ground well and breathability is exellent no matter how far i travel. at the end of a days hill walking my feet feel fresh and ready to go again in a word boot heaven!!
