BRILLIANT QUALITY

I have had my boots since Sept 1996 and they are still going well. Look after them using Nikwax.
Took a while to break in but I did use some Nikwax leather softener to help
Would recommned them as they have lasted me so many years they work out very cost effective.

A GOOD QUALITY BOOT FOR EASIER TERRAIN.

High quality of manufacture. Comfortable and no sweaty Gore-Tex.
Lack of ankle support and underfoot protection on rougher terrain.
I've been using these boots since December '03, and I've found them comfortable out of the box. That said, I have experienced some foot fatigue when carrying backpacking loads, and I'd put that down to lack of stiffness under the ball of the foot.

DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN

A very comfy boot for low level walks or firm/level going, excellent cuff padding and sole flexy enough to afford great ride on low level trails. Wide fitting affords easy breaking in, speed lacing system is a peach. Mine have been through bogs, streams etc and, with treatment, have been amply waterproof. Build quality is excellent and generous rand affords good durability
The ankle support is low and ankle cuff padding is perhaps too soft, you're at risk of a twist on uneven rock, boulder field etc. Degree of sole flex may not afford enough assurance when scrambling.
Great boot for it's intended use, but should not be relied upon to accommodate loftier ambitions.
