ONE OF THE BEST BITS OF KIT IN MY WARDROBE

Extremely versatile garment.

Doesn't pill.

Usual Lowe Alpine quality seams and general finish.

Comes in a nice olive green.
None really - perhaps a tad dear at full rrp.
Shop around and you can get these for under £30. Once you've found them order at least one.

The light-weight gridded micro-fleece works surprisingly well as a warm baselayer next to the skin, wicking far better than normal fleece. The zip is deep enough to cool you down if it warms up a bit, and the grid (whilst admittedly stopping it being windproof) means it's warm without being too warm anyway.

Worn over a T-shirt baselayer as a light midlayer(or dry-day outer) it's nice and warm whilst still highly breathable compared to standard fleece.

It's close fitting enough to wear under a micro-fleece jacket for a very warm combination, although admittedly the weather hasn't been cool enough for me to want to do this yet.

Washes well, good colour range including a perfect green for bird-watching (some of us try and live in shades of olive).

As someone who runs warm this is a superb garment, but it should be versatile enough for most people.
