The best Shell I have ever worn, simply superb fit. XCR as good as any under full-on Scottish conditions. Tough.

My own Alpha sv is only a year or so old and is the Pro Shell version.I know it's expensive ; very expensive but once you try one on you realise why.The things are just totally bombproof.I have worn it in the Lakes in torrential rain and last winter's severe snow as well as in storms in the Alps last Easter and never has it even contemplated letting any of the weather in.Some reviews have pointed out that there is no storm flap on the zip. This is because when Arc'teryx say they have fitted a waterproof zip they mean a zip which is waterproof hence no storm flap! This is the ultimate bad weather jacket so if you can afford one get one now.
